Angkor

The ruins of Angkor, a UNESCO world heritage site, cover about four hundred square km’s and was the home to several different capitals of the Khmer empire (not to be confused with the Khmer Rouge) between the ninth and fifteen centuries.

The Angkor ruins in Siem Reap, Cambodia, consist of magnificent architecural masterpieces, many of which are continually restored. An early morning start was rewarded by sunrise at Angkor Wat. I’d strongly recommend it.
